Yesterday we had a fantastic class trip to Housesteads Roman Fort – Hadrian’s Wall. The children discovered what life was like as a Roman soldier stationed at the fort and enjoyed dressing up and training as a recruit in an auxiliary unit.
We have been learning about one of the world’s most famous prehistoric monuments, Stonehenge, as part of our Stone Age topic. Children then made their own mini version of this monument using salt dough.
Today, the Key Stage 2 children enjoyed playing board games based around Viking game pieces, and using their topic knowledge to move forward. The children really enjoyed it, and the questions helped to reinforce their Viking knowledge!
